π₯ NBN WEEKLY RECAP: THE LEAGUE IS ABSOLUTELY UNHINGED RIGHT NOW
Grab your popcorn, folks. The NBN is serving chaos and bangers this week, and I am HERE for it. We've seen 35-point blowouts, buzzer-beater vibes, and at least one team that desperately needs to Google "how to play basketball." Let's get into it.
π THE WEEK THAT WAS: GAMES THAT MADE US SAY "YOOO"
Let's start with the Raptors, who absolutely DESTROYED the Pelicans 115-80 on Day 81. That's a 35-point massacre, people. The Raptors came out looking like they had somewhere to be and decided basketball was just slowing them down. The Pelicans? They looked like they were still trying to find the arena. Ouch.
Then we had the Warriors absolutely clamping the Timberwolves on Day 83, winning 97-66. That's a 31-point stomp. The Warriors defense looked like a brick wall with legs, and Minnesota couldn't buy a bucket if it was on sale at Walmart.
But the game of the week? Trailblazers vs. Nuggets on Day 84. Portland pulled off a 128-121 thriller against Denver β a 7-point win that felt closer than the scoreboard suggests. LaRue Martin continues his dominant season on the boards (14.7 RPG!), and when he gets going, the Trailblazers are SCARY. Meanwhile, Jermaine O'Neal of the Nuggets is quietly having an absolute monster season on the glass (15.6 RPG to lead the league), but his team couldn't get it done. Someone get Jermaine some help, please.
And closing out the week, the Heat edged the Nets 127-122 in a 5-point nail-biter. Richie Tozier of Brooklyn continues his assist wizardry (10.8 APG!), but it wasn't enough against Miami's balanced attack.
π TOP SCORERS: THE 30-POINT CLUB IS GETTING CROWDED
The scoring race is absolutely WILD right now. Check out who's leading the charge:
Chris Paul and Nate "Tiny" Archibald are in a dead heat at 32.2 PPG. These two are playing like they have a personal vendetta against the scoreboard. Allen Iverson (31.2 PPG) and Carmelo Anthony (31.2 PPG) are right behind them in a tie that would make any bracket challenged. And let's not sleep on Fat Lever (Pelicans) β 30.5 PPG with a 13-year vet presence. That man does NOT miss.
π THIS WEEK'S HOTTEST PERFORMERS
Give it up for the assist kings keeping this league's offense alive:
- Richie Tozier (Nets) β 10.8 APG leads the league. This man sees passing lanes before they exist.
- Phil Ford (Magic) β 10.6 APG, and he's doing it at 49.3% from the field. Efficiency king.
- Muggsy Bogues (Grizzlies) β 51.7% FG and 62.3% True Shooting. SMALL BUT MIGHTY.
- Jermaine O'Neal (Nuggets) β 15.6 RPG. The man is a REBOUNDING MONSTER. He'd be the MVP of "who deserves better teammates."
π THE STRUGGLING TEAM: PELICANS, WAKE UP
New Orleans, we need to talk. You're averaging 9.03 points per game as a league... wait, no, that's the league average. BUT THE PELICANS JUST GOT BLOWN OUT BY 35. The same team featuring Fat Lever (30.5 PPG!) should NOT be losing by 35. Something is broken in that locker room. Is it defense? Is it effort? Is it the logo? Someone needs to light a fire under this team, because right now the Pelicans are the biggest disappointment of the sim.
β‘ POWER RANKINGS: THIS WEEK'S WINNERS & LOSERS
π₯ WINNERS:
- Raptors β That 35-point beatdown screams "we mean business."
- Warriors β Clamped the Timberwolves. Defense is elite.
- Trailblazers β LaRue Martin is a force, and they're winning close games.
- Heat β Found a way to win when it mattered most.
βοΈ LOSERS:
- Pelicans β See above. Embarrassing.
- Timberwolves β Jay Williams (10.6 APG!) deserves better.
- Nets β So close against Miami, yet so far.
π₯ HOT TAKE: BOLD PREDICTION TIME
I'm calling it now: Chris Paul finishes the season as the unanimous MVP. At 32.2 PPG with 8.3 APG and a True Shooting of 56.5%, he's not just scoring β he's conducting an orchestra. The Clippers are going to make a DEEP run, and CP3 is going to drag them there by the collar if he has to.
Also, watch out for Muggsy Bogues. That 62.3% True Shooting is ELITE. Small in stature, massive in impact. The Grizzlies might be the sneakiest dangerous team in this league.
That's a wrap for this week's NBN madness. Stay tuned, keep scrolling, and remember: in this league, anything can happen. Usually does. βοΈ
